Can a professional orchestra perform at a church and still be professional?

i want to start a professional orchestra and was wondering if it is professional for a chamber orchestra to perform in a church. of course i don't little churches i mean major large central churches and maybe catherdals. it could just be i have attached a stigma to performing in churches being unproffesional, because amertuers usually perform in them.
